BUMP, CRASH and SMASH DMD! KICK OFF SUMMER BROOKLYN STYLE
Pietrosfight.org hosted their first children’s event, “Bump, Crash and Smash DMD”, on Friday June 21st at Adventurer’s Family Entertainment Center, the old “Nelly Bly”. The turnout was a huge success with over 400 kids and parents coming out to support Pietrosfight.org. The Brooklyn community has selflessly taken on Pietro’s fight, embracing him with open arms, and with that, the fighters behind him have become the backbone of the foundation.
Bay Ridge Honda and Bay Ridge Toyota led the fight as the Main Event Sponsors. Two competitors came together for one cause which was truly amazing. Brooklyn vendors Paneantico, Bagel Boy, Peter Pizza, Aunt Butchies, & Villa Bate supplied the food and treats for the evening. No one went home without a full belly and a tired child. Kids were able to partake in the Art Room’s activities and Kaleidoscope’s glitter tattoos. All of the proceeds from both companies went towards Pietrosfight.org. Acting Out and Bobby’s World PC provided the entertainment that kept every kid dancing and crafting. Special guest Easy AD from Cold Crush Brothers along with HHPH, performed and interacting with kids of all ages. Everyone got up and participated.
An overwhelming $35,000 was raised at Pietrosfight.org‘s first family event. Every parent that brought their child to the event led by example. Showing children how to support one another and how to be an integral part of their community. Community based events such as “Bump, Crash and Smash DMD” are the examples that our children learn from, setting the foundation for a future generation of supporters.
Thank you to Father Jamie for starting with a Prayer and blessing Pietro. Thank you to Revi starting the night with her amazing voice, singing the National Anthem. Thank You to Vince Segalla from Photography Elite and Daniel Marino from Marino Photography for snapping all the pictures and Factor5 Films for capturing the evening’s festivities. Class act, park owner Toby acknowledged the enjoyment of the afternoon and compassionately kept the event going for an extra hour, free of charge. The staff was so supportive and excited to be apart of Pietrosfight.org. Thank you Adventurer’s for creating these memories of a life time and taking part in our fight.
